What is the Minnesota Telehealth Network?
It’s a partnership between Tri-County Hospital of Wadena, North Region Health Alliance, SISU Medical Systems and University of Minnesota to share and implement telemedicine to rural medical facilities across northern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota. A three-year grant from the Office for Advancement of Telehealth, Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration was awarded to Tri-County Hospital in September 2006.
What is the goal of the Minnesota Telehealth Network?
The MN Telehealth Network’s goal is to provide medical specialty consultation services to rural Minnesotans via telemedicine. This evolving network will address the restricted access to specialists and healthcare professionals in rural areas. Other uses include educational opportunities for physicians, nurses, hospital staff and the community.
